What's New and
What's Happening?
Summer is here!! Are
you all enjoying it? My very favorite part of the summer is meeting wonderful
people from all over the world. No, I'm not kidding you - all over the world.
You'd be amazed at the visitors that come to Watkins Glen. So far this month
I've met folks from Ohio, California, Florida, Indiana, New Jersey, Louisanna
and England. And I almost met Ashley Judd's husband the race car driver - I
don't know his name but he was in town and I heard he was cute!! And even if I
didn't know his name I would have been very impressed. He's almost a movie
star!!
Finally - I remembered to let you know who won the prizes from
shop hop. Our GRAND PRIZE winner of the Featherweight sewing machine was
Virginia Germer, 1st prize 11 gift certificates was Debbie Driscoll and 2nd
prize of 11 gift certificates was Renee Gaylord. And the winners of a gift
baskets were Edna Elbertson, Sue Yamasaki, Joan Ruck, Anita Crafts, Lena
Jennings, Janet Weldin, Regina Haner, Eileen Hugo, Donna Phelps and Linda Cook.
If you see any of these ladies just touch them and maybe their luck will rub off
on you for next year!!
Quilt Club is Thursday, June 28th. We hope to see
you all right here at 10:30 or 2:30 or 7:00PM. I can't wait for you to see
Jeanne's demo. It's the hottest new notion out there and guess what? I've got
them!!
On Friday, June 29th Jeanne will be teaching the It's a Wrap
class. If you've seen our samples you know how cute these are. So if you're
wanted make one but just haven't got around to it - join Jeanne in her class.
Are your children or grandchildren off to summer camp? Before they leave
you're got to see the cute pillowcases I've made. As easy as any pilllowcase
you've ever made but these are personalized! Lakehouse has fabric with the
letters printed on a white on white dot background and all you need to do is cut
out a square and make a prairie point for each letter of their name and sew it
in the seam between the cuff and body of the pillowcase. Great way to make sure
they come home with THEIR pillowcase and far cuter than those labels the camp
recommends.
I wouldn't want you to miss some of our cute Christmas
fabric that has come in. It's Santa's Got the Goods with a free pattern with
your fabric purchase. We're working on a sample but the fabric may be gone
before we get it done! I hope you see four pictures of this fabric when you get
this e-mail if you're not seeing pictures you may need to change a setting on
your computer. This is what my web person tells me "They need to set the mail
options to accept images and html e-mails. The way they do that is going to be
different based on the type of e-mail client they use. For example, if it's
Outlook, then they would go under tools and select options. If they are using
Mail on a Mac then they would go into the preferences and select it there" So if
you didn't see our cute Santa then change these selections-if you don't know
where to find it ask your kids or grandkids and they'll be sure to know
how.
Take care and we hope to see you soon!! Check out our schedule of
events! |
