What's New and What's Happening!

Summer is behind us and my favorite time of the year has arrived! I love fall not just for the beautiful colors of the Finger Lakes but is's a great time of the year to start a new quilting project or make a lovely Christmas gift for family or friends. In addition to new projects, we're offering some fun events at O'Susannah's Quilts & Gifts.

The newsletter is out in the mail and I know Jean and Kathy and a few others seem to get their newsletter after it goes to Timbuktu and back. If this happens to you, pop on my website and check out the classes and events. We've found one mistake (there's probably lots more!) in the newsletter. The 4 patch Stacked Posie class is scheduled for SEPTEMBER 28th from 11:00-2:00PM. When you call to sign up make sure you mark your calendar as September 28th.

We've made a couple of changes in our clubs. Soup n' Sew will be the first Wednesday (that's tomorrow!) and Kidz Club will be Saturday afternoons. We're hoping Saturdays work better for more kids to come and learn about quilting! And what better time to start a new club. We hope everyone will join us in our Block Swappers Club. This is just like a cookie exchange but even better because you're swapping quilt blocks instead of cookies. Much better for our diets! Everyone can participate in Block swappers whether you can come to the club demonstration or not. All you need to do is make 12 blocks from that month's pattern and bring them back to the shop the 1st week of the month. During the 3rd week of the month, stop in and pick up 12 blocks. One will be your own and 11 will be totally different. We'll do the exchange for six months so you'll end up with 72 blocks. What a great way to make a beautiful scrap quilt. Cheryl Cleveland will lead the demonstration on the third Wednesday of each month. Confused? Don't be - it's just like a cookie exchange - make one dozen blocks from that month's pattern bring them back to the shop and we'll swap them up for you. Stop in and see the quilt Cheryl made from just 36 blocks!

Monthly Bliss begins this THURSDAY night. If you haven't signed up for this hand piecing class give me a call. You won't be disappointed in this class. Everyone learned so much from Monthly Bliss 1 many are signing up again for Bliss 2. We've got two classes this year so there's plenty of room.

And it's Fall Challenge time!! Bonnie Scott of Joyful Adornments and myself have teamed together for this year's challenge. Here's how it works...purchase four fat quarters from Maywood's new Leaves collection (just arrived at the shop) and Bonnie will give you a free hand made glass button. Use your fat quarters and button any way you like to enter the challenge. The entries will be judged at our Fall luncheon on October 10th.

AND...Saturday, September 8th is STRIP CLUB....you don't want to miss...free pattern....a great quilt and a good time!! Set your alarm and join us at 9:00AM.

And what's an e-mail without a peak at some new fabric. It's the Janelle line from Benartex...isn't it gorgeous?
Don't miss an event-sign up !
