What's New and What's Happening!

ImageThe calendar tells us it's Fall and we should be bundled in our quilts at the kids soccer and football games but the temperature just doesn't agree!! Our weather has been beautiful and keep your fingers crossed for a beautiful fall day on Wednesday, October 10th for our Fall luncheon. We're busy getting ready and Carol Bower is busy planning our menu. Are you working on your challenge? Time's a getting short so put your ideas to the fabric and either drop your project off at the shop or bring it to the luncheon. In addition to enjoying the Bliss quilts, we hope everyone attending will bring a show n' tell. The more you bring the more fun we'll have!! The luncheon is at Noon at the Pavilion at the South Entrance to the State Park. Call if you need directions. The store will be closed from Noon until Two on Wednesday.

Kids Club is Saturday, October 13 from 2:00-4:30PM. More and more children are enjoying this great class. Saturday they'll begin making gifts for the Holidays.

Have you heard about the Block Swappers? It's simple, fun and a great way to collect blocks for all kinds of projects. All you need to do is make SIX blocks from a simple pattern and bring them in to swap. It only costs $5.00 per month and we'll provide the background. If you have questions or are interested call Cheryl at 796-9203 or e-mail her at Cherylc@stny.rr.com.

You've still got time to sign up for the Holiday Quilt Medley! Jeanne and I have been talking and planning and we think it's going to be a very fun day. The cost is $55.00 and you receive four kits, meals for the day and a 20% off storewide sale. Sounds like a great time to me!!

Last week we received lots and lots of new fabrics. At one point I think I moved half of the bolts in the shop to make room for all the new batiks, Moda and some great (yes! believe it or not!) novelties!! Thought you'd never see them here, right? I just couldn't resist some of them. And some of your old favorites are back like the bra fabric. Just in time for PJ's for your daughters and grandaughters for Christmas gifts! And we now carry Quilters Dream Poly Batting!! We've had many requests so it's here and it is a dream. And you won't belive it's polyester! It feels wonderful and it's great if you do not want to do alot of quilting. Your quilting stitches can be 12" apart!!

Don't forget Girls Rule on Saturday, October 20th. Make a whole day for you and your favorite hobby - start out at Girls Rule and then join us for the rest of the day at the Holiday Quilt Medley!!

Thank you to everyone who made an ornament for the Christmas Tree. I will present it to the Schuyler Hospital Auxiliary on Thursday and then we'll have it back here so you can purchase a raffle ticket or two!!

And here's a picture of last year's Fall Challenge winner!!
