O'Susannah is actually Sue Murphy. Sue grew up in Palmyra, New York surrounded by a family of devoted sewers. Sue could walk across the street and sit beside her paternal grandmother as she taught her how to make knitted socks for Christmas presents or walk to the corner to join her maternal grandmother as she sewed at her sewing machine or by hand or walk next door to the neighbor who started Sue on her true passion, embroidery.
As a young bride Sue, her mother and sisters took a quilting class where they learned to hand piece their quilts as well as how to machine piece them.
It wasn't long and Sue's husband Kevin was transferred to Watkins Glen. Sue's sewing talents were expanded with the purchase of their first new home to curtains, tablecloths, knicknacks for the house, and baby quilts for the new nices and nephews that were joining the family.
Sue's love of embroidery was expanded during this time. Sue joined the Chemung Valley Chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America where she held different offices and is currently a member of The Country Piecers Quilts Club. Every time you walk into her new store you will be delighted with a new project she has to show you or one she has just finished to encourage her customers to give it a try.
When you stop in to visit we are certain that the words that have been tumbling our of her family's mouth for years will be rolling off your tongue. O'Susannah how did you do that? Will you show me?
