Our Story & Mission
Preserving traditional quilting arts while embracing modern creativity since 1995
Our Humble Beginnings
Osusannah's Quilt Shop began as a dream in the heart of Susannah Miller, a third-generation quilter whose passion for fabric and thread was only matched by her love for teaching others. In 1995, with just $5,000 saved from selling her quilts at local fairs and a small storefront in Quilter's Valley, Ohio, she opened the doors to what would become a regional quilting institution.
The first years were challenging. Susannah would work late into the night cutting fabric, preparing kits, and designing patterns while managing the shop during the day. But word quickly spread about the quality of fabrics and the warmth of the community she was building. What started as a one-woman operation soon grew into a team of passionate quilters dedicated to preserving traditional techniques while embracing innovation.
Today, after nearly three decades, we've expanded our original 800-square-foot shop to a 5,000-square-foot quilting haven, but we've never lost sight of our roots. Every bolt of fabric, every class we teach, and every community event we host carries Susannah's original vision: creating a space where quilters of all levels feel welcome, inspired, and supported.
